Things are moving on a pace with the lodge. Last weekend the electrics were completed so we now have heat, light and power. We also started on some of the pannelling to mount the radiators. Yesterday we continued with the pannelling and now have all the lower half of the walls done, and one end completely finished as shown in the following two pictures.
The heaters make it toasty warm, even in the current cold and blustery conditions, and the 8 LED strip lights will be excellent for seeing all those lovely miniatures on the table tops.
We hope to have the rest of the pannelling done by the end of January and then it is on to painting the whole inside. By the end of February we hope to have built all the tables, and March will be the installation of the cupboards, shelving, floor tiles and hopefully the attached bathroom facilities.
For anyone who is interested in the details of the lodge, it is just under 30 feet by 20 feet. Due to the versatile way we are building the tables, it will allow us to have two 24’x6′ tables, or three 15’x6′ tables, or have U shapes or L shapes. At some point, we have plans to add some additional supports to allow some 17×6′ tables. For smaller more fragmented battles, it will be easy enough to have six 6×6′ tables or other combinations. There is an attached 6’x6′ bathroom, and at some point we will be attaching a further 6’x8′ shed which we may use for storage or for teams to do planning. We are also planning a decking area to sit out on during the warmer months. The lodge is set in a small fenced glade surrounded by fields and trees next to an old farmhouse at Allerton near Bradford.
We feel confident that we can keep to these targets so are now happy to accept any bookings for weekends after 31 March 2019. Price quotes can be obtained by contacting us through this website and giving us details of how many people are in your party and what you want to do. We will also be revamping our website at some point early this year with pictures of the finished lodge, game reports, and more details on what we do including some set weekends for individuals and smaller groups to get together and meet fellow wargamers from different areas.
Finally, please leave us some comments on what you think of our project, our previous game reports, and the periods that we offer. We are very excited about the introduction of the lodge this year and what it will help us offer, and we would love to hear from you.
So come along and have a Legendary Wargame with us.
Steve
