Pending getting our new website up an running, here are a few shots of weekends we have done over the last month or so to show you the size and quality of our new venue and games.
Firstly some shots of a “Sands of the Sudan” game we had with some friends.
The Egyptian retreating column enters the table.
A view from the Egyptian end as they head to high ground to make a stand.
A view from the British end as they uncharacteristically move down the table in lines.
The Egyptians go Text book 101 to defend against the Mahdist forces.
The British finally move into company columns to push on faster.
And then from our Dresden weekend for the Sheffield Uni 80’s Graduates, a fantastic game with over 6000 figures on a 23 feet by 15 feet table setup.
Day 1 on the Allied right and Richard is showing Napoleon the troops he is about to bring out of the side of Dresden to defend against the Prussian attack on the Gros Garten
Day one looking along the Allied lines with Dresden outskirts on the left.
Had to put this in (sorry Mark). The first Prussian attempt at the Gros Garten and one battalion rolls a dramatic morale failure.
Another view along the Allied lines, a little later on Day one.
Carl playing the Allied C-in-C making super fast progress down the French right flank. Surely they cannot be Austrians at that speed!
Day two on the Allied left flank with the Old and some Young Guar and Guard Cavalry making the Prussians cower back on the defence.
Another scene right up the table with almost all the players in shot.
An epic cavalry melee between Austrian Cuirassiers and French and Saxon Cuirassiers. The French lost two hard fought attempts to break the Austrian lines.
Everyone debating how the battle had gone at the end of day two.
Another shot of the final table.
This was a fantastic game, and our new venue really showed off its versatility for table configuration. We could have fought this on for another couple of days, so next time we may open this up as a three day experience.
